Join your classmates and enjoy a delicious at a popular casual Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Toronto’s Chinatown!
Since 1997, Hong Shing has been an institution in Toronto by offering delicious and accessible chinese food. At Hong Shing, we are committed to consistently elevate the perceptions of chinese cuisine and hope to connect with more individuals and communities to our food and culture. The name Hong Shing derives from the Cantonese language meaning “Strong and Healthy” & “City Fortress Gate”. The water flowing through the fortress symbolizes wisdom and fluidity of life. All of these were the inspiration for our iconic logo.
* Reservations are recommended as this is a popular restaurant which can be busy.
* IMPORTANT NOTE:
This is only a suggested evening student activity that is not organized or attended by school staff. If you are wanting to participate, we suggest you make plans with your classmates for a meeting time and meeting place. Any costs are the student’s responsibility.

Join your classmates and discover Toronto’s oldest market!
All roads to good food lead to St. Lawrence Market, a city landmark more than two centuries old. Two hundred vendors sell everything from local mustard to fresh pasta, lobster to artisanal bread.
St. Lawrence Market is a major public market in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located along Front Street East and Jarvis Street in the St. Lawrence neighbourhood of downtown Toronto. St. Lawrence Market was first established in the early 19th century, originating from a proclamation that established a designated area near King Street and New Street (later renamed Jarvis Street) for a public market in 1803. The first buildings erected for the market emerged in 1814, with the first permanent structures built in 1820.
